Archie "The Mayor of Troost" Williams, 69 of Kansas City MO. died peacefully surrounded by friends and family on February 3rd. Archie was a man who loved life, was beloved by many and his smile will be missed. For the last 10 years Archie has been serving others at St. James Place, a place he loved. After people there helped him, he dedicated his last years with helping so many others to; "Get them back on track". He did this every night at the St. James Community Kitchen.
He worked at several Hotels in Kansas City as well as with the housing authority. He had a great love and passion for as he called it "Cowboy" Shows. Yet it was his dedication to others and his genuine nature that made him so well known, by the people close to him and the stranger he just met.
Archie was preceded in death by his parents, Archie Williams and Mildred Lane and a brother, Michael Williams. he is survived by his children; Archie Thompson, Archie Jackson, Latrice Gray, Rockmon Wren, Maya, Williams, Bonita Williams, Stephanie Williams, Steven Williams, Neshell Williams, and John Williams, his sisters, Darlene Williams, Janet Williams, Hope Beasley, and Kristine Williams, brothers, Donald Williams and John Bierley, as well as many gran kids, nieces and nephews, and much more family in so many ways. There will be a memorial service; Friday February 10th at 11 am at St. James Church, 3909 Harrison, KCMO.
