Barbara Jean Giamalvo Blum

Barbara Blum, 78, of Raymore, MO peacefully passed away on April 15, 2023. Visitation will be at 10 am Saturday April 22, followed by 11 am service at Muehlebach Funeral Home, 6800 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO 64131. Burial will be later in the day at 3:00 pm.

Barbara was born March 15, 1945, the daughter of Charles and Irene (Jackson) Giamalvo, in Kansas City. She attended Glennon High School. Barbara married John Kelly Blum and they had one child. Barbara was employed at AT&T for a number of years as well as a Kansas City temporary nursing agency before starting her own secretarial services company, and eventually owning her own flower shop. Barbara had many and varied interests, most recently family genealogy.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Charles and Robert Giamalvo, and daughter, Amanda Lorine (Blum) Berkovich. She is survived by her sister, Betty Ann Hill, and her children, Mary McKinney Hunt, Patricia Ann McKinney, and Gary Franklin McKinney; by her granddaughter, Theresa Michelle Berkovich; and many other loved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the caregivers of Foxwood Springs Memory Care Unit and Missouri Palliative & Hospice Care for providing compassionate care in her final days.
