Bessie V. Ryan, 84, passed away in Vacaville, California on January 17, 2015. She was born on April 3, 1930 in Kansas City, MO to Ethel & Orville Wipperman. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John P. Ryan Sr. in 2001, her brother, Orville Wipperman in 2009, and her daughter, Carolyn Beattie in 1991. She is survived by four children, John P. Ryan Jr. of Bayard, NE., Elizabeth Jane Bailey (Cordell) of Vacaville, CA., Carl E. Ryan (Dianne) of Acworth, Ga., and William H. Ryan (Connie) of Shawnee, KS. She is also survived by two brothers, Lloyd (Mary) Wipperman of Kansas City, MO., and Carl (Sue) Ryan of Belton, MO. She is survived by 13 grandchildren, Michael Beattie, Kathleen Cabero, Daniel Herrman, Matthew Herrman, Jeffrey Bailey, Christopher Bailey, Carl Ryan, Jr., Audrey Meyers, Christina Barsalou, Douglas Ryan, Courtney Ryan, John T. Ryan and Caitlin Ryan and 14 great grandchildren. She was a color artist doing oil portraits and paintings for Warner Studios for 30 years in Kansas City MO prior to retiring to Branson MO. She left Branson in 2003 and lived in Shawnee KS with her youngest son Bill and his family for four years and then moved to California in 2007 to live with her daughter Jane Bailey and her family. Bessie's first grandchild Daniel and her last grandchild Caitlin were born on the same date of April 17th. She was lovingly called GG by her great grandchildren in California.

Funeral visitation services will be held at Muehlebach Funeral Home, 6800 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64131 on March 21, 2015 from 3-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donation to the Multiple Sclerosis Society for research.
