C. Grace Brasher

C. Grace Brasher, age 97, of Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully at home on June 20, 2017. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 27th from 6pm-8pm at Muehlebach Funeral Care, 6800 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO. There will be another Visitation on Wednesday, June 28th from 10am-11am, with the Funeral Service starting at 11am. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
Grace Brasher was born on October 17, 1919, in Bogard, MO, to Phillip E. Dorner and Bessie E. (Hull) Dorner. She graduated from Norborne High School in 1937, and went on to further her education at the Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, MO. Grace later met the love of her life, Charles "Chuck" Brasher, and spent 69 years happily married. Together they ran and operated their arboriculture business, Country Club Tree Service. Grace was an avid gardener and member of Gardners of America for over forty years. She was a loving wife and mother, beloved grandmother, dear sister, aunt, great aunt, and friend. Grace will forever be in our hearts.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Bessie; husband, Chuck Brasher; brothers, L. Paul Dorner, Merle Dorner; and a sister, Elsie Belle Hawkins. Grace is survived by her son, William "Bill" Ayres and wife Patricia; grandchildren, Elizabeth Ayres Vasquez and husband Tony, Charles J. Ayres, Katherine L. Ayres and husband Dou Yang; great grandchildren, Lucas A. Vasquez, Benjamin A. Vasquez, Amalia Fay Yang; sister, Mildred Koontz and husband Lloyd; and her dear friends, Chris King, George Eib, Kay Elliott and Brad Lucht.
