Carol Ann Hummel

Carol Ann Hummel, 68, passed away on September 10^th, 2023.  Carol was born on June 10, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri to George and Rosalie (Hammer) Hummel.  Rosalie passed away in 2016 and Carol’s father, George, passed away in 1992.  Carol graduated from Bishop Hogan High School in 1973 and received a BSN from Avila College in 1977.  Carol went to work immediately after graduation for St. Mary’s Hospital located on 28^th and Main and stayed there until it’s closing on February 11, 1988.  She also worked for St. Luke’s Hospital and for Olsten Health Care.  She worked as an ICU Nurse for 31 years.  She stayed active in various places after the closing.  She was a longtime member of The St. Thomas More Catholic Church community and was a member of the choir for 21 years.  In 2001 the choir was selected from 300 choirs around the world to go to Rome and sing for the Pope at the Closing of the Holy Doors.  Carol was blessed by several special friends who remained close to her and supported her to the very closing of her life.
