Carol M. Ambrose

Carol M. Ambrose, age 68, of Independence, Missouri. Passed away at Centerpoint Health Center on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 8:45pm, as a result of complications from Ischemic Colitis. She was surrounded by family.Carol was born March 31, 1947. She was the only child of Peter Riccio and Marion Couch. Her husband, John L. Ambrose often teased her, she was born a day premature. They were married for 35 years. She was an avid quilter. Never by machine, always hand pieced and hand quilted. She enjoyed many crafts over the years. Carol was also involved with Turpentine Creek Animal Refuge in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She loved the big cats. She also loved her house cats, Tiger, Snowball, Shaggy and Sandy. They kept her moving and warm. Carol worked her younger years, as a Bookkeeper, for CMI, Construction Materials Inc. Then, she stayed home to raise her children.Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Peter Riccio and Marion Couch. Her husband, John L. Ambrose and her son Peter Samuel Ambrose. She was survived by her son, John W. Ambrose and his wife, Tracy and her daughter, Deborah M. Kirmse (Ambrose) and her fiance' Bennie Smith. Grandson Chase E. Kirmse and grandson's Christian Poynter and Aren Smith.The family would like to thank Centerpoint Health Center for the amazing care.Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from noon to 1:00pm at Muehlebach Funeral Home, 6800 Troost Ave., KCMO, 64131. Interment following.
