Cassie Stroot, 46 years of age, of Peculiar, Missouri, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025. A loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Cassie brought her gentle spirit and kindness to everyone she met.
Born on August 27, 1978, to Michael and Joyce (Williams) Todd in Kansas City, Missouri, Cassie was a woman of remarkable intelligence and compassion. She dedicated her life to her family, cherishing every moment as a wife and a mother. She took immense joy in watching her children grow and succeed, celebrating their achievements with pride and gratitude.
Cassie was a graduate of Crestridge High School and the University of Central Missouri, where she studied accounting. She was later employed by the General Services Administration. In her free time, she found peace and beauty in the simple pleasures of life. She loved taking walks, where she could reflect, pray, and marvel at the wonders of God’s creation. These moments of quiet solitude were a testament to her gentle and thoughtful nature. She loved spending time with her children, whether exploring the outdoors or participating in activities together. At home, she cherished evenings filled with laughter, stories, and the warmth of her family.
Prior to the onset of her severe illness, Cassie also learned many new skills as a homemaker and found great pleasure in turning her house into a beautiful home of peace and respite for her entire family. She also graciously assisted her husband with the homeschooling of their seven children.
Cassie’s legacy of love, faith, and kindness lives on in the hearts of those who survive her, including Nathan, her devoted husband of over 25 years, her children, Elijah (Elizabeth) Stroot, Anthony (19), Samuel (15), Grace (14), Henry (12), John (11), and Anne-Marie (8); her mother, Joyce Todd; her sisters, Sheryl (Randy) Book, Stacey (Don) McCune, and Leslie (Jeff) Sidorowicz; and many other beloved family members and friends. She also leaves behind her first grandchild, Raphael (RJ). Cassie was preceded in death by her father, William Michael Todd.
The visitation will take place Friday, January 24, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Muehlebach Funeral Care with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Requiem Mass will be held Saturday, January 25, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Catholic Church located at 5035 Rainbow Blvd, Mission Woods, KS 66205.
Though Cassie is no longer with us, her devotion to Jesus and the Blessed Virgin Mary, her love for her family, and her kindness will continue to shape the lives of all who knew her. May her memory inspire us to live in faith, share kindness, and spread love in her honor.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Requiescat in pace. Amen.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles. These contributions will support their community and mission, which Cassie held in deep admiration and supported throughout her life.
