Cecelia Toyos, 94, passed away on November 9th at Villa St. Francis in Olathe. She was born in Bogota, Colombia on March 6, 1920. She moved to Kansas City, Mo during the 1960s and lived a full and glorious life. She met and married Rolando Toyos and they lived together through "for better or for worse" caring for him "through sickness and in health" until his death in 1997. She will be buried at Maple Hill Cemetery, by Rolando's side and near her beloved sister, Paulina D'Achiardi De'Cortes. She is also predeceased by her son, Ricardo Gutierrez. She is survived by her son Jairo Amar, brothers Carlos Miguel D'Achiardi, Alvaro D'Achiardi, sister Berenice Velilla, and many, many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family and loved ones too numerous to mention.
Cecelia will be remembered for her great love of family, her determination and strength, and her endless generosity. She lived her life by her own terms and left behind a legacy that reminds us to fully live each day, leave the past behind, and peacefully rest in the comfort of the Lord.
