Celia E. Padilla

Celia E. Padilla, 78, of Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully in her home on January 4, 2025. Celia was born on February 25, 1946, in Puerta de Chula (Zacatecas) Jerez, Mexico to Rita Enriques Carrillo and Donisio “Nicho” Enriquez. She was united in marriage to Joseph “Joe” Padilla on September 26, 1979.

Besides her parents, Celia was preceded in death by her late husband Joseph; son Jose E. Padilla; brothers, Juan Enriquez, Trinidad Enriquez, Herminio Enriquez, Antonio Enriquez and Salvador Enriquez; sisters Juanita Enriquez Carrillo, Rosa Maria Enriquez Carrillo and Guadalupe Reyes (Enriquez). She is survived by her sons Fernando Padilla and Orlando Padilla; granddaughters Emilia “Emma” Padilla and Alejandra “Alex” Padilla.

Celia was employed at the University of Kansas Hospital where she worked many years in Housekeeping until she retired. Celia enjoyed sitting on her porch, watching all who passed-by and devoting time for quiet reflection. She also enjoyed cooking and she had a witty sense of humor! Celia was a devout catholic and prayed daily.

Services for Celia will be held at Guardian Angels Parish, 1310 Westport Rd., on Saturday, January 18th with Visitation from 10am to 11am, with Rosary prayed at 10:40am. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11am. Interment held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery following Mass. The family suggests Memorial Donations to Guardian Angels Parish.
