Charles David Dumit

Dave was born May 6, 1942 and passed away peacefully on November 27, 2023, after a long illness. He lived his entire life in Kansas City and attended Southeast High School where he met his wife of 62 years. He owned Dumit Rug Cleaners for 54 years which was established in 1929 by his Syrian immigrant father and grandfather, which is now in fourth generation. He loved working and talking to our wonderful family of customers. This last year he missed being behind the counter talking to people so much. He loved to say dogs and cats were our best customers. He just liked people.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents Henry & Corinne Dumit, and sister Jean Hardey. He leaves his wife Sue; four children who he was so proud of, Todd & Katie Dumit, Paula & Dan Tarwater, Brad & Trish Dumit, and Dan & Heather Dumit; 9 grandchildren and 3 & ½ great grandchildren; brother Bob & Connie Dumit; brother-in-law Jon & Susan George; one sweet niece and 6 nephews.

Dave and I were truly blessed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023 from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm at Muehlebach Funeral Care, 6800 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO 64131.
