Charles R. 'Bob' Warren

Charles R. "Bob" Warren, 81, of Raytown, MO died on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at NorthCare Hospice in North Kansas City, Missouri. Services will be held at Muehlebach Funeral Care, 6800 Troost Avenue, KCMO on Tuesday, April 26th with Visitation from 5 to 7pm followed by the Memorial Service at 7pm. Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, April 27th at 11am at Crown Hill Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 or NorthCare Hospice, 2000 NE Vivion Road #200, Kansas City, MO, 64118.Bob, or Bub as he was known to family, was born on January 29, 1935 in Excelsior Springs, MO, the only child of James Ray and Leta M. (Smith) Warren. He graduated from Lee's Summit High School in 1953 and married his Excelsior Springs sweetheart, Doris Jean Carlow, on May 21, 1954. Three girls were added to their union; Marsha Jean in 1955, Linda Sue in 1956, and Pamela Marie in 1958. Fifteen years later their son, Brian Todd, was born in 1973.Bob graduated from SBU in Bolivar, MO, in 1970. While attending college, Bob pastored two churches: HighPoint Baptist in Humansville and Bethany Baptist in Lamar, MO, where he was ordained a licensed minister on September 8, 1968. He also worked at Pitt's Funeral Home, which sparked his long career in the funeral industry. Upon graduation he pastored the First Baptist Church in Marble Hill, MO, while also working at Ward Funeral Home. Leaving Marble Hill in 1974, he pastored the Calvary Baptist Church in North Las Vegas, NV. He soon returned to Missouri to pastor the Selmore Baptist Church in Ozark, and from there returned to his hometown of Excelsior Springs as Associate Pastor of Pisgah Baptist Church. He also pastored the Flack Memorial Christian Union Church in Excelsior Springs for several years, as well as a Funeral Director of the Gowing Funeral Home there. His final pastorate was the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO, from which he left the pastorate to begin full time work at Muehlebach Funeral Home in Kansas City until his retirement in 2006. In his younger days, golf was a favorite sport to play, and later watching the Missouri Tigers, Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. A rivalry between Bub and the grandsons was a fun pastime for him when Mizzou and KU played basketball! He also enjoyed fishing, taking trips, and making flower arrangements on driftwood.He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Leta, and two great grandchildren, Hope Reasons and Ryker Swanson.He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris Jean; his four children, Marsha Reasons, Linda McRorey, Pam Pierce, and Brian Warren; son-in-law, Bob Reasons; daughter-in-law, Ammanda Warren; 21 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; three cousins, Diane Sapp, Carl Davis of Excelsior Springs, and Charlotte Lemons of Lee's Summit.
