Clarita Bryant

Clarita (Smith) Bryant, 73, of Kansas City, MO passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm Wednesday, August 9th followed by visitation until 9:00 pm at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church, 8941 James A Reed Rd., Kansas City, MO 64138. A Memorial Mass will be Thursday, August 10th at 10:00 am at the Church. An additional visitation will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul, KS from 7 to 9 pm with the Rosary prayed at 7 on Thursday, August 10th. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the church on Friday August 11th at 10:00 am, followed by burial at St. Francis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. John Francis Regis Catholic School, Little Sisters of the Poor, or a charity of your choice. Clarita was born September 24, 1943 in Parsons, KS to Henry and Catherine (Maus) Smith. She was raised in St. Paul, KS and graduated from St. Mary College with a BS degree in Mathematics. On February 10th, 1968, she married Milton, her husband of 49 years. Clarita was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Clarita was a devout Catholic who had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. For over 45 years she was an active member of St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church. She was also a devoted volunteer at Little Sisters of the Poor and the St. James Soup Kitchen.She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brothers, Larry and Gene Smith, and other loved ones. She is survived by her husband, Milton Bryant; daughter, Cassandra Lewis; sons, Gerald "Gary" Bryant and his wife Kelly, Steven Bryant and his wife Mylane, and John Bryant and his partner Susan; her grandchildren, Connor & Fletcher Lewis, Dillon, McKinnley, Kaiden, and Quinn Bryant; brothers, Lon, Miles, Jim, & J.B. Smith; sisters, Cathy OHara & Colleen Vitek, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
