Daniel Mathew Fish, a beloved husband, brother, Uncle and friend, passed away suddenly on February 10, 2024, at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on September 13, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York. Daniel's life was marked by kindness, generosity, and a selfless devotion to serving others.
Daniel began his professional journey in the world of finance, dedicating his talents to IBM. For many years, he worked diligently in the field, bringing his expertise and passion to every endeavor he undertook. With a strong work ethic, Daniel made lasting contributions in his career.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Daniel's true legacy lies in the way he cared for others. He had a deep love for his family and friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand or provide a listening ear. One person who held a special place in Daniel's heart was his brother John. Throughout their lives, Daniel provided unwavering support and selfless care to John. Their bond was unbreakable and served as an inspiration to all who knew them.
In addition to John Fish, Daniel is survived by his loving wife Joyce Fish. Together, they shared a partnership built on trust and unconditional love. Joyce stood by Daniel's side through thick and thin and provided him with endless warmth and affection. Joyce was in Catholic Alumni Club and Dan was in Redemptorist Social Club and met when the clubs came together for a Christmas event.
Daniel was also cherished by his sister Mary Kitsmiller and her husband Tom from Columbus, Ohio. The family bond between these siblings was strong, rooted in shared experiences and unconditional love.
Beyond his immediate family members, Daniel leaves behind six nieces and nephews who admired him greatly. His presence in their lives brought joy and laughter that will be cherished forever. Additionally, he is survived by ten great nieces and nephews who will forever remember the warmth of his embrace.
Joyce and Daniel began their lives together on August 26, 1989 at St. Elizabeth Parish and have been members for 36 years and to honor Daniel's memory and celebrate his life, visitation services will be held on February 20, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Parish in Kansas City, MO. This will be followed by a Mass at the same location from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Later, a private ceremony will take place at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Lenexa, KS from 2:00 PM to 2:15 PM.
Daniel Mathew Fish will always be remembered for his genuine kindness, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. He leaves behind a legacy of selflessness and compassion that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
