Danny Neenan died February 17, 2025 at K.U. Medical Center after an extended illness. He was 40 years old. Danny was born in Kansas City to Isabelle (Belle) and Joe Neenan. He was the fifth child of seven. He graduated from St. Elizabeth Grade School and Rockhurst High School. He was a Navy veteran. Danny was a member of Visitation Catholic Church. Danny worked at the Neenan Company for over 15 years as a salesman, purchasing agent and branch manager. He was the treasurer of the company. Danny was an avid Chiefs and Royals fan but rugby was his sport. He played rugby with various local clubs for over 20 years. Danny was an accomplished sailor; becoming a certified sailing captain. He obtained his captain’s license before his wedding so they could sail the Mediterranean for their honeymoon. He was an excellent cook and foodie. He knew almost every restaurant in town and their best dishes.
Danny was a wonderful, dedicated and loving father leaving behind his proudest legacy: Isabelle Pearl, James Patrick and Grace Kathryn Neenan all of Kansas City. He was preceded in death by his mother Belle, his sister Teresa and his brother Sam. He is survived by his children, his father Joe, his step mom, Pam, his sisters: Cathleen Reggiardo (Fed), Jeanie Launder (Dave), brothers: Joseph, Nathan (Danielle), step sister, Jackie Wing and step brothers, Jimmy Wing (Ana), and Shad Wing. He also leaves behind 13 nephews and nieces and his former wife, Hannah Neenan. Danny also leaves numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many dear friends. He was truly loved by his huge family.
Danny was intelligent, an avid reader, a hard worker and a loving and generous son who we could rely on and always came when called. He was a loyal and considerate brother and uncle. He was a fun loving and dedicated friend. But most of all he was a wonderful and supremely proud father of his three perfect children.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Conception Abby, Conception, MO, and Visitation Catholic Church, 5141 Main St, KCMO. A visitation will be held starting at 9:30am on February, 27th at Visitation Church with a Rosary preceding. His funeral Mass will start at 11:00 presided by his uncle Rt. Rev. Abbot Benedict Neenan, OSB. A reception will follow in Tighe Hall.
Danny left us far too early but we will cherish his unwavering love, his strong determination, and his fierce loyalty. He is dearly missed but we know he is happy and out of pain – content to be with his mother, sister and brother and looking out for all of us as he always has.
