Diana Kay Carver, 76, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on Saturday, October 1, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Diana was born in Pratt, Kansas on July 20, 1940 to Louis Marion Farmer and Margaret Elizabeth Neifert Farmer. She attended grade school and high school in Pratt and also attended Kansas State University. In 1962 Diana married David Carver and they were blessed with two children, Kirsten and Jolie. The family has lived in the Brookside area for nearly 50 years and were often active participants in neighborhood events. Diana began her work as a legal secretary in 1960. The next 20 years were spent doing freelance, part-time legal secretarial work while raising her children. In 1980 she began working for the law firm of Sanders and Simpson where she spent most of her career until she retired in 2005. Movies, books, plays, ballets, concerts and music were her passion. Diana was known for her quick wit, wealth of knowledge (Trivial Pursuit was her forte) and her ability to join the crowd, "roll with the flow" and have fun in almost any situation. Diana was a friendly, loyal and loving person who had great respect for and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Her fun-loving spirit was enjoyed by all who knew her. Diana leaves her husband of 54 years, David Carver, her children Kirsten Carver and Jolie (Jason) Riley and her beloved grandchildren, Georgia Kay Riley and Benjamin Louis Riley. She also leaves her brother, John (Kathleen) Farmer as well as other family and friends who will without a doubt cherish her memory.
