Dorothy Elizabeth Saller, 64, passed away unexpectedly due to heart failure on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Providence Medical Center.
Dorothy was born to Arthea North Saller and George E. Saller on February 15, 1959, in Kansas City MO. She graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School, and after studying nursing and childcare, worked for many years as a licensed practical nurse.
Known for her kindness and generosity, her cheerful disposition, her humbleness, and her quickness to laugh, Dorothy cared for children and elderly people in a variety of settings, most recently as a private duty nurse through Phoenix Home Care and Hospice. Prior to that, she worked with the Aureus Medical Group as a travel nurse.
A member of Community Christian Church, Dorothy was committed to her faith, frequently offering help and sympathy to others in times of need. She worked hard all her life, sometimes in the face of great challenges. Dorothy loved children, knickknacks, arts and crafts, small dogs, and cheesy cornbread. Her relatives smile remembering her creative baking efforts even as a young girl.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her son George Wesley Robison, her sister Carol Saller Winsby, and her niece Amelia (Molly) Braden Winsby. She leaves behind her son Andrew Robison and wife Daniale; her brothers, Richard Saller and wife Tanya, and Arthur Saller and wife Julie; her uncle Douglas J. Price; her aunt Shirley Atteberry; five cousins, one niece, and six nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on April 27, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Community Christian Church, 4601 Main St., Kansas City, MO 64112. A Reception will be held following the Memorial Service also at the Church. Donations may be made to NAMI through https://donate.nami.org/fundraiser/4826122?is_new=true
