Dr. Gerard Paul Nagorski, D.O, known affectionately as Dr. Paul, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home. His journey began on September 21, 1940, in Skarszewy, Poland, where he took his first breath and embarked on a life filled with purpose and compassion. At the age of 7 he left Poland with his father, brother, and sister for the United States and in particular, Erie, Pennsylvania. It took a year before his mother was able to join them as she had to find the channels to buy her way of the communist territory.
Dr. Paul's dedication to helping others led him to a career in medicine, specializing in adolescent and adult psychiatry after graduating from the Osteopathic College. His inner strength shone brightly as he provided countless individuals with individual psychotherapy and expert medical care throughout his extensive and fulfilling career.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Paul was cherished for his friendly demeanor and his zest for life. He found joy in traveling the world, staying connected with his family in Europe, exploring the world of antiques, and immersing himself in the pages of books with unwavering enthusiasm.
In the hearts of those who knew him best, Dr. Paul will forever be remembered for his kind soul and his unwavering commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others.
Dr. Gerard Paul Nagorski is survived by his beloved spouse Gregory L. McGraw, his brother Walter Nagorski, and 8 nieces and nephews who will continue to carry on his legacy of love and compassion. He is preceded in death by his father Frank A. Nagorski, mother Bernice Nagorski, sister Helen Nagorski-Dabkowski, and Caroline Logan-Nagorski. He also leaves 4 nephews and 5 nieces; Edard Dabkowski, Michael Nagorski, Steven Nagorski, Andrew Nagorski, Barbara Dabkowski-Parks with Rick Parks, Chris Dabkowski-Giles with Patrick Giles, Caroline Tish-Nagorski-Ellmaker with Eric Ellmaker and Susan Nagorski-Ward, with 3 children. He also leaves Barbara Walczak-Rutkowski, Paul Rutkowski with Amy Buffington-Rutkowski, with 2 children.
As we gather to honor and celebrate the remarkable life of Dr. Paul, let us be comforted by the lasting impact he made on all those who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will forever remain etched in our hearts as a beacon of light and hope.
