Memorial contributions may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Attn: Linda Tiramani 520 8th Ave 7th Fl, New York, NY 10018.Our father was born on July 29, 1926 in Mexico City, Mexico. He married our mother, Esther, on February 28, 1948. Esther passed away on March 23, 2016. He is survived by his children, Paul and his wife Joan, Danny and his wife Lana, Deborah and her husband Thomas. His grandchildren are Aubra Palermo, Solomon Franco, Raquel Franco, Nathan Franco (deceased), Aubrey Franco, Timothy Franco, Lauren Franco and Sarah Franco, Madison, Thomas, Kayden, Becca, and Max Aceto and multiple great grandchildren. Our father came to the United States at 18 years old to attend CALTEC University. His dream was to be an engineer. That dream was interrupted on the day he met our mother (a pastors daughter), in Pasadena, CA and for the next 70 years (68 married) they built a home. Our father worked for the Church of the Nazarene for the next 68 years. He pastored in such diverse locations as Tuxtla, Mexico to Los Angeles, CA. In 1960 he left the pastorate to return to a fledgling work called the Casa Nazareno De Publicaciones and for the next 35 plus years he traveled all through Mexico and Central and South America doing what he loved; sharing the liberating news of the Bible. He made time to obtain a PhD, and completed Seminary. He edited The Church of the Nazarenes official publication in Spanish called El Heraldo de Santidad. It won many literary awards. It was not the awards, it was the time he gave to his children and though he was a complicated man what was always certain is that he loved his wife and his children. My father was a dreamer and my mother was his ship. At night he would whisper to the sky and the night, "May my children be more than me." We spent a lifetime trying. Our mother and father will soon be reunited with their dog Cha Cha and my brother David but most importantly each other.
