Earl Jasper Smith, 87, went home to be with the Lord November 25th 2015 at Kansas City Hospice. He was born on November 28, 1927 in New Cambria, Missouri to the late Frank and Rosa (Craigg) Smith. Earl, the middle of five brothers, was a lifelong resident in the Kansas City MO area. He attended Missouri School for the Deaf in Fulton, MO. On June 4th 1955, he married Juanita Mae Mathes in Merriam KS. Earl worked for the Whitaker Cable Corp in North Kansas City for over 30 years until it was closed. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Belton and dedicated his life to God. Among other things, Earl loved bowling in a deaf league and watching sports. He is survived by Son Charles (Chuck) and Wife Jill of Belton, two sisters in law, Irene and Sharon, four grandchildren, Shannon (Todd) Martin, Karina (Joshua) Cubley, Joel Smith and Christian Smith and six great-grandchildren Aubree, Ashlyn, Addyson, Sophia, Payton and Harper. Earl is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 58 years, his Son James (Jim) Smith, four brothers; Bert and wife Ida, Robert, James and Charles and wife Darlene. Memorial will be from 11:00 to 12:00 at First Baptist Church of Belton with Pastor David Baker officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 at the First Baptist Church of Belton.
