Edward Morgan Sr.

Edward Morgan Sr passed away peacefully at home on April 17, 2020 at the age of 91. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri in August 1928 to Joseph and Josephine Prothman Morgan, the oldest of five children. He graduated from Lillis High School in 1946 and served in the US Army on an aircraft carrier during the Korean War. He worked as a journeyman plumber for over forty years and was a member of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry for over seventy years. He married Veronica "Bonnie" Kneib in 1954 and they would have celebrated 66 years of marriage on May 29th. Ed and Bonnie raised four children together. He was an avid bowler and achieved two perfect 300 games during league play. In retirement he learned to golf, growing to love the game he achieved a hole in one two times. He volunteered for many years as a marshall at the Fred Arbanas Golf Course at Longview Lake. As a devoted husband, father and grandfather he loved to play card games and sports with family and friends and never missed an opportunity to watch his grandchildren play sports. He spent his last years caring for his wife at home. His warm and loving personality and sense of humor will be missed. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jerry, his sister Carol Ann and his son Michael. He is survived by his wife Bonnie, his children Eddie Jr (Sheila) of Kansas City, MO, Trish (Kendal) Peterson of Linwood, KS, Dan (Jennifer) of Lees Summit, MO, his brothers Tom (Jean) of Kansas City, MO, Gene of Texas, grandchildren Kevin (Sarah) Morgan of Lees Summit, MO, Kelly (Cole) Doutt of Belton, MO, Trent Peterson of Overland Park, KS, Dean Peterson & Mary Peterson of Linwood, KS, Sam and Drew Morgan of Lees Summit, MO. A private service has been held and Ed has been laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A memorial mass will be held at a later date that all are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Crossroads Hospice and Palliative Care.
