ELIZABETH CORONA (BETTY) HASTINGS
Elizabeth Corona (Betty) Hastings, born to Paul and Anna Coffman February 25, 1923, died peacefully surrounded by her loving Family, July 8, 2014 in her home at Village Shalom, Overland Park, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leonard, infant son, Richard, youngest daughter, Terri LaManno, her two older brothers, Paul Jr. and Bob Coffman and many other family members and friends. Betty is survived by her daughters, Patty McMahon (Mike) and Mary Euston, sons John (Glenda), Tom (Mary Esther), son-in-law, Jim LaManno, 16 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, her cousin Mary Allin (George), and close personal friend, Harold Green. Betty was a devoted wife, mother and home-maker and a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. Her family was her passion; she hosted many gatherings in her home for Holidays and special occasions, with Sunday dinners always being family time. Betty enjoyed playing card games, reading a good book and going to a movie with friends and family. In her later years, Betty traveled to many places. She was an excellent seamstress who enjoyed sewing clothes for her daughters and in her retirement at Village Shalom, continued by participating in quilting circles. She will be remembered kindly by many for her loving, gentle, Christian Spirit. The family would like to acknowledge all staff members at Village Shalom for the loving care and support they provided to our Mother these past several years. We would also like to express our gratitude to Kansas City Hospice for the support and services they provided our family during our time of need. A Rosary will be prayed at 8:30 AM Friday, July 11, 2014 at Visitation Catholic Church, 5141 Main, Kansas City, Mo followed by a visitation with Betty?s Family at 9:00 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow and begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorials can be made to The Village Shalom, Kansas City Hospice and Harvesters Food Pantry. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.muehlebachchapel.com
