Esther Franco

September 21, 1926 — March 23, 2016

ESTHER FRANCO
Our mother was born on September 21, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 28th from 1 2 pm at the First Church of The Nazarene, 11811 State Line Rd., Kansas City, MO, 64114. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. She was married on February 28, 1948 and went to heaven on March 23, 2016. She was the 2nd of 10 children. Her Mexican father was one of the early pastors among Latinos in the Church of the Nazarene. We could write a book about our mothers exploits and good deeds, most of them done in private. Suffice it to say that she adored her husband of 68 years. She was completely committed to her children and nothing stood in the way of her love for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her Guatemalan mother modeled unselfishness to her from an early age and she learned her lessons well. It was the desire of her heart to be as unselfish as her mother was. For the rest of her life she practiced the skill of selflessness and when she died she had perfected that trait. Our mom always said "let go of the things you cannot control and love God with all your heart and serve him in all things." Our older brother David died in 2001 and he is awaiting her. I suppose when she gets to heaven she will tell Saint Peter if he is not doing his best because she always expected the best of us. She leaves her husband, Dr. Sergio Franco, Paul Franco and his wife, Daniel Franco and his wife, and Deborah Franco and her husband, her grandchildren, Aubra, Raquel, Aubrey, Timothy, Lauren, Sarah, Madison, Thomas, Kayden, Becca and Max and her many great grandchildren. She is also survived by several brothers and sisters. We will miss you mom. Cha Cha your dog who will be awaiting you. We will see you soon.
