Eva Jean (Scharff) Miller, 92, passed peacefully in her sleep on December 27, 2022 following a long, happy life. Eva was born on May 28, 1930 to Oscar and Thelma Scharff. She was the oldest of 7 siblings.
On September 30, 1950 she married Robert Francis Miller. In 2000 they celebrated their 50th Anniversary. Together they had 4 children. They attended hockey games and auto racing while dating and later enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, woodwork & painting crafts, square dancing, and family gatherings.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband Robert (2004), and siblings Tessa Calgary, Suzanne Simpson, Ervin Scharff, Larry Scharff, and Joseph Scharff. Survivors include her sister Connie Scharff Boland; children Paul E. Miller, Catherine A. Miller, Christopher N. Miller, and Richard T. Miller; her grandsons Lonnie Miller, Curtis Miller, Adam Miller, and Tim Miller; 16 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grand children and many nieces and nephews.
She was a devout member of St Matthews Church. Eva worked at Bakan/Calmar in assembly and QC, and as a file clerk at the State of Missouri. She was active in several positions with the American Legion, and volunteered with Community Services League. She delivered meals on wheels with her daughter Cathy and enjoyed many activities with friend Shirley Green.
Eva will be remembered as a sweet, gentle, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved all animals, especially dogs and birds, flowers, her family and friends, weekly hair appointments, Avon jewelry, strawberry shakes, and Elvis.
She will be laid to rest next to Robert at Mt Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
