Frieda Rose Bader passed away June 1st at home. She was 98. The Rosary will be prayed on Thursday, June 4th at 6 PM with the Visitation following until 8 PM at Muehlebach Funeral Care, 6800 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, Mo. Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, June 5th, at St. Ann Catholic Church, Prairie Village, KS at 10 AM. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. Frieda was born on September 26th, 1916, in Kansas City, KS, one of five children born to Julia and John Mejak. She graduated from Bishop Ward High School in 1934. She married Al Bader on June 21st, 1947 and their marriage was one of love, devotion and humor. She was a loving mother and a saintly caregiver to first her mother, then her brother Hillie, and finally her sister Vera. Preceding her in death was Al, her husband of 46 years and her second son, Tommy. Also preceding her in death were sisters Helen Mejak, Loretta McGowan, and Vera Clifford and her brother, Monsignor Heliodore Mejak. She is survived by her son Steve and his wife Michelle, niece Mary Wald and nephew Fr. Dennis McGowan. We would like to recognize the family of E. Grey Dimond, MD and the staff of Diastole for many years of friendship and purpose. They were her second family and she was their Mama Bader. The family would like to thank the staff at Mission Springs Assisted Living as well as the staff of Catholic Charities Hospice Care. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to St. Anns or Catholic Charities. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.muehlebachchapel.com
