George Reeve Adair, 95, of Leawood, KS, passed away peacefully May 14, 2016. George graduated from Blair Academy, Blairstown NJ, in 1940. He then attended Cornell University where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He served four years in the Pacific theater in World War II with the Marine Fifth Amphibious Corps. After the war, he was a cum laude graduate of Rutgers University. George moved from Montclair, New Jersey to Kansas City in 1967. He had a 41 year business career was with U.S. Safety, a manufacturer of personal safety equipment, where he became vice president. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Peggy, a son, Scott, of Prairie Village, and daughters Sally, also of Prairie Village, Sue, of Kansas City, Mo., four grandchildren, Dustin, Caitlin (her partner, Renae Garon), Tate and John Buck, and two great- grandchildren, Aiden and Elias Allen and his cousin Joan Lister of Connecticut. George loved deep sea fishing in the Florida Keys, but most of all he loved his family. Memorial services will be at the Village Presbyterian church, Friday, June 3rd at 1:00pm. Burial is private at Corinth Cemetery.
