Gerald "Sparky" Leroy Howe was born on May 17, 1951 in Kansas City, MO to his mother, Ella May Magee & father, Lionel Silas Howe. He had an innate love of animals and nature from the start. He served his country proudly in the Army over several deployments during the Vietnam War. When he returned to civilian life, he worked as an ironworker, electrician, computer repairman and general Renaissance man, loving work that involved his mind and hands.He is survived by his two daughters, Tami Williams and Nahtanha Gray; and their husbands; plus two grandchildren, Ramsey and Devin Williams. He lived in Independence, MO for the latter part of his life where he retired and enjoyed various hobbies and spending time with his family and friends. He passed away from natural causes on Sunday, February 28, 2016, in his home and will be missed by all those he knew and loved."Sparky" would not want a traditional/formal type of service. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering this Saturday, March 5, 2016, from 2-4 pm at the VFW Post 1829, located at 5804 Crystal Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64129.
