Harold Richard Solomon, 91, of Olathe, KS passed away June 14, 2017.
Harold was born September 16, 1925, in Marshall, MO. He was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He then began his career as an investment broker in Kansas City at E. F. Hutton & Co. He has been a member of St. Thomas More Parish for 49 years and is a member of More friends, St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary, Notre Dame Club of Kansas City and the Heart of America Barbershop Chorus of Kansas City.
He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Clara Solomon and his brother Maurice. Harold is survived by his wife, Joyce, of 58 years, son John (Traci) of Riverside, MO, daughters Mary Jeanne Gralen (Kevin) of Scottsdale, AZ, and Lisa Solomon of Sterling, VA. He is also survived by grandchildren Jack Solomon, Addison Gralen, Alexandra Widman, and Lauren Widman, 8 siblings: Irene Quigley of Leawood, KS, Helen Newman of Topeka, KS, James Solomon of Memphis, TN, Mary Yates (Greg) of Lees Summit, MO, Elaine Willman (Hubert) of Danville, CA, Peter Solomon (Lorene) of Marshall, MO, Catherine Sanderson (Jerry) of Roeland Park, KS, and Lawrence Solomon of Meadville, MO, Sister-in-law Jeanne Broussard of Houston, TX, many nephews, nieces, friends, and his Santa Marta family.
On Saturday, June 17th at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, visitation will be from 10:00-11:00am with the Rosary at 11:00am. Mass of the Christian Burial will follow at 11:30am. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Community Hospice, Bishop Sullivan Center or St. Thomas More Memorial Fund.
