Henry R. Mattucks

Henry R. "Hank" Mattucks, 87, passed away December 29, 2014. Visitation will be held from 10-11:00am Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Christ the King Church, 85th and Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am. Interment with military honors will be at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Church.Hank was born October 6, 1927 in Kansas City, MO to Samuel and Caroline Mattucks. He was raised by his Aunt Kate and was the quarterback of his Glennon High School football team. He served in the U.S. Navy where he traveled around the world twice. After getting out of the service he met and married Dorothy Struttman and they were married for 64 wonderful years. He owned and operated Hank's Auto Repair in Kansas City for 35 years. He enjoyed auto racing and was part of the emergency service crew at the local racing tracks. He also enjoyed watching old war and western movies. Hank and Dorothy enjoyed traveling the world and visited many exotic locales. Hank was preceded in death by a son, Larry Ray Mattucks; a brother and five sisters. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Mattucks; children, Ted Mattucks and wife Kathy of Kansas City, Missouri; Denise Lakey of Houston, Texas; Bob Mattucks and wife Susan of Oak Grove, Missouri; Jeff Mattucks and wife Liz of Holt, Missouri; 8 grandchildren, 3 step grand children, 10 great grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
