Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Wednesday at St. Catherines of Siena Church (and available via live streaming). Interment with military rites will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to St. Catherines of Siena Church for masses offered for Bill and for all souls in Purgatory, donations to the food pantry of your choice or to Villa St. Francis Care Center.
Bill was born April 14, 1935 in Kansas City, MO to Luz and Antionette (Perez) Aguirre. He graduated from Our Lady of Guadalupe School and Central High School. Bill served his country in the US Navy and was a Korean War Veteran. He then began his career with the Kansas City Police Dept where he served for ten years as a reservist, 28 years as a full-time officer, and 3 years as a civilian before retiring in 2001. Bill continued his life of service as an active member of St. Catherines of Siena Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years.
Bills love of family, community, faith and dedication to service can be seen in his devotion to his wife, faith community and willingness to devote himself to any cause that would improve the community he lived in. His multiple proclamations from City Council speak to his excellence in service as an officer. The support and love of his friends speak to him as a person. The long extension of family that looked to him as father and uncle speaks to his success as a husband, dad and family man. His strong and unwavering faith in our Lord speaks to his strong heart and dedicated soul. He was truly a good man who lived a full and purposeful life that is at peace in the arms of Jesus and our Lord.
