Irene Sullivan Mccullough

Irene Sullivan McCullough passed away September 30, 2014. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am, Saturday, October 4th at Cure of Ars Church, 9401 Mission Rd, Leawood, KS followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Private interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Cure of Ars Church.

Irene was born December 6, 1920 on Long Island, NY to John Wm. and Elizabeth F. (Fitzpatrick) Sullivan. She attended St. Agnes Academy where she met her future husband, John "Jack" McCullough. Irene and Jack were married September 4, 1943 and moved to numerous cities during Jack?s service in the Army Air Corps where he served in the 8th Air Force. Following the war they moved to Connecticut and then St. Louis, MO before settling in Kansas City to be close to family. Irene was a longtime member of Cure of Ars Parish.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Robert John McCullough and her sister, Betty Dwyer. Survivors include her children, Janet Taylor and husband Jerry, James McCullough and wife Kristyne and Joan Krummenacher and husband Kim; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
