Jacqueline Hush (Curry) Moore was born on November 16, 1982 in Schaumberg, Illinois to Thomas Curry and Kim Kraus Curry, as Stevie Wonders "Isnt She Lovely" topped the radio charts. How fitting this would be, for a woman whose life developed into the unique and beautiful journey that hers was. Starting at a young age, Jacques inclination to collect concert ticket stubs, dried flowers, quotes, and journals upon journals tracking her life indicated the things she cherished most authentic and sincere experiences she aimed to share with the people she encountered in her life. With each endeavor she pursued, she left an imprint on the lives of people around her, both big and small.
Jacque graduated from St. Thomas More Catholic School, her desire to teach made clear early on in the classrooms she would set up for her sisters, Shannon Granger (Murphy) and Abigail Curry (Aidan), disregarding the fact that she was the only one eager to be in a classroom on summer break. She would go on to follow in the footsteps of two generations of Kraus family women, graduating from St. Teresas Academy in 2001, where she surprised herself with a knack for crafting baskets and tapestries out of fiber. It was during these years where her voracious love of books and words wove themselves together to expose the mind of the beautiful poet that would come to be. She went on to pursue a bachelors degree in Elementary Education from St. Louis University, where her sarcastic humor, witty quips, and rather daring sense of adventure for a life-time rule follower, really began to blossom. She was a top fundraiser for SLUs alumnae office and had her own poetry published multiple times as part of SLUs literary magazine.
Following graduation, she accepted her first teaching job at Christ the King parish as a fourth grade teacher, discovering a teaching style that was equal parts spicy and sweet, with a unique ability to craft her teaching approach to a magnitude of qualities that each kiddo brought to her table. After 8 years at Christ the King, she stepped out of her creature comfort zone to accept a position at the Crossroads Academy, where Jacques personality, creativity, and dedication were allowed to truly shine. She proudly led the weekly "choir practice", never failing to keep her fellow teachers socially inspired and on their toes on a weekly basis.
In 2006, Jacques one of kind personality fell into step with another one of kind personality, that of her husband to be Kevin "Richard" Moore. Through this connection, Jacque found deep friendships with the ladies that would make up her "book club", 3 Moore sisters and brother-in-laws, Lori Underwood (Ryan), Becky Croker (Paul), and Kristin Fracassi (Eric)and her cherished "niblings": Gracie, Billy, and Rosie Underwood; Charlie and Ella Croker; and Dominic, Mateo, and Dante Fracassi. in-laws, Bruce and Ginny Moore each that would love Jacque as if she was their own. She was most proud of her role as a godparent to her niece, Gracie, and was overjoyed to walk into her very own surprise wedding on June 14th, 2013, planned covertly by her loving mummy and husband, eager to appease Jacques desire to get married, "if only she didnt have to plan it."
While Jacque was busy living her life to the fullest, what some knew, but many didnt- was that she was also quietly, diligently, and hopefully battling a rare cancer diagnosis that was the byline to her life for over ten years. Her diagnosis of Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma was one that came with years of radiation treatments, six surgical procedures, scans, scans, and more scans, and an intense clinical trial, before she finally went home in the care of hospice. She spent her final days as she wished - in her cozy home, with candles lit, listening to her favorite music, with her dog, prince nugget Hosner, at her feet and in the tender loving care of her adoring husband, sisters, parents, and in-laws. Jacque did not see herself as brave or strong, just as a person who believed that who you are, is who make your mind up to be. And that, she did.
To commemorate her beautiful life, a gathering for the love of Jacque, will be held at the Windmoor Building on St. Teresas Academy campus this Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 1:00-4:00pm.
