James Craig Young, "Craig," 68, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on April 4, 2018. Craig was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on January 7, 1950, to James "Jim" Way Young and Martha Jo (Craig) Young. He grew up in Gladstone, MO, after his family relocated there when he was young. He was an Eagle Scout, graduated from Southwest Missouri State University in 1971, had a long career at Paramount Liquor, and retired from Glazers Midwest. Craig enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He loved his cats, Leo and Noah. Craig hosted friends and family for any occasion. He always had a funny story to share and everyone loved being around him. He enjoyed his tomato garden, yardwork, and even turned his backyard into his own little resort. Craig loved a good scotch, listening to music, lounging in his pool, and completing projects around the house. He is survived by his wife, Shelley; children, William "BJ," Robert "Bobby" (Amanda), Andrea (Brett) Runyon, and Alley (Dan) Porter; grandchildren, Oliver, Scarlett, Kate, and expected granddaughter to be born in May; mother, Martha; sister, Sharyl (Richard) Roady; and nieces and nephews. Craig is preceded in death by his father, Jim.
A visitation will be held at Muehlebach Funeral Care, 6800 Troost, Kansas City, MO, on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Craigs honor can be made to the Humane Society of Missouri.
