Jane J. Selbert

Jane Johnston Selbert, 84, of Kansas City, Missouri passed peacefully from this life January 1st, 2023. Jane was born on January 1st, 1939 in Summit, New Jersey to parents Thomas and Dorthy Johnston. She grew up in Summit and spent summers in Cutchogue, Long Island. When her father became head of Macy’s Midwest Division, she moved to Kansas City and met her husband Michael. They were married in 1961. Jane also lived in Breckenridge, Colorado and currently resided in Kansas City.

Jane was a loving mother and grandmother who was strong and independent. Jane enjoyed reading, completing puzzles, watching films and all outdoor activities. Above all she loved her gardening. A love she passed along to all her children.

Jane is preceded in death by her husband Michael. Survived by her daughters Lauren (Peter) Miene, Wendy (Bob) Angus; son Michael (Heather) Selbert; grandchildren Stephanie, Alex, Connor, Lillian, Michael and Justin; brothers Tom and Bill Johnston. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Loose Park Rose Garden via The Kansas City Rose Society.
