Janice Kay Taylor

Janice Taylor, 83 of Overland Park, KS passed away on June 13, 2023. Visitation will be Saturday, June 17th at 9am followed by the funeral service at 10am at Heritage United Methodist Church, 12850 Quivira RD, Overland Park, KS 66213. A graveside service will be held at 2pm at Wilmington Cemetery, Harveyville, KS 66431. Memorial contributions may be given to Heritage United Methodist Church.

Janice was born June 26, 1939 the daughter of Jim and Mary Thompson and was raised in Harveyville, KS. She attended Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science-Elementary Education. She married her childhood sweetheart, Bill Taylor with whom she shared a wonderful forty-seven year marriage. Janice and Bill raised two children, Craig and Carol. Janice loved working with children. She started her career as a grade school teacher and later spent many years as a teacher for a mother's day out program. She was an active member of her church including participating in the choir and assisting with various children's programs. Janice enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending time with her extended family and attending music concerts and programs.

She is preceded in death by her son, parents, husband and brother Jimmy Thompson. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Taylor and her brother RIchard Thompson along with sisters Beth Garbe, MaryAnn Strickland, Carolyn Van Patten and Sara Thompson along with many nieces and nephews.
