Jim Aust

Jim Aust, 71, beloved son, father, grandfather and friend, passed away May 7, 2016 from natural causes. He was a proud Kansas City native, graduating from Bishop Miege and the University of Kansas, where he was president of his freshman class and a lifelong leader and fundraiser in his fraternity, Phi Kappa Psi. During his 31 years in advertising, he developed a nationally-renown reputation in agricultural marketing under the close mentorship of agency owner Jim Barickman. Entrepreneurial to the core, at 40 our dad launched Charter Marketing Group, where he tripled revenues for several national accounts. He retired in 2000. Dad loved his family and friends fiercely and will be missed beyond words. He is survived by his beloved parents, Jim and Jona Aust of Tustin, CA, and three daughters: Heather Aust and her three children Keri, Kameron and Hallie of Springfield, MO; Leslie Beck (Andrew) and their five children Lily, Eleanor, Drew, Tommy, and Billy of Kansas City, MO; and Lauren Aust, of New York, NY. Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 20 at Visitation Catholic Church, KCMO. Lunch reception following; celebration of life thereafter.
