JoAnn McMillin

JoAnn McMillin, 89, passed away on July 7, 2023, after a short stay at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, MO.  JoAnn was born to John C. and Tilley Bright Worth in Kansas City, MO.  She lived her entire life in Kansas City.  She was united in marriage to Leland McMillin on September 21, 1956. They had two children,  LeAnn and Mike.  JoAnn worked as a book keeper many years for Wolferman’s, Bennett Construction Company and Cintas.  She and Lee loved to travel and especially loved going to Florida and walking on the beach and watching the beautiful sunsets.  She and Lee were sports fans and especially liked the Missouri Tigers and they had a house divided JoAnn loved the KC Royals and Lee was a St. Louis Cardinals fan.  JoAnn was a member of Briarcliff Church (formally Northgate Baptist Church), Kansas City North, MO.  Where she met and had many cherished friends.  She loved her dogs Lady GiGi and Sir Archie.

She is survived by Leland of the home, daughter LeAnn Shelton (Mike), Christine Bartlett (David), Amy Hart, Melissa Burchette, Alison Register (Mark), Aaron McMillin (Ginny); sisters Barbara McConnell and Beverly McDaniel, Ten great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, her son Michael, her sisters, Dolores Blanton, Alma Ware (Forrest), and Shirley Narron (Bill), nephews Steve Ware, Herb Blanton, Jr., John McConnell, Jr., and Mark McConnell, and her two beloved dogs.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 12 at Muehlebach Funeral Care, 6800 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO 64131, starting at 10:30 am with a Memorial Service to follow starting at 11:00 am. Interment will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery directly after the services.
