John E. Powell

John E. Powell, age 70, of Kansas City, passed away on March 25, 2019. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 30th from 11:30-1:00 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 4101 E. 105th Terr, Kansas City, Missouri, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to St. Catherine of Siena.
John was born December 4, 1948 in Kansas City, Kansas. He is survived by his wife, Janet; sons, Sean (Jennifer), Chris (Kristi), Todd (Kelly) and Brett (Erin); grandchildren, Jack, Paige, Anna Kate, Matthew, Collin, Ryan, Kate, Caroline, Bridget, Luke, and Jane; a sister, Joyce Terry.
John is a proud graduate of Rockhurst High School class of 1966. He was a loving husband and father who put his family first at all times. He spent most of his career as the Owner of the John E Powell company manufacturers representative, where he was able to sell ice to Eskimos and ketchup popsicles to women with white gloves. Most of all, John spent his time traveling the city, state, and country to watch every one of his kids' and grandkids' games, along with his wife of 49 years and best friend, Janet Powers Powell. He has touched so many lives and will be missed dearly.
