John Halloran

John Patrick Halloran Sr., 85, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 am, Monday, March 2, 2015 at St. Thomas More Church, 11822 Holmes Rd, KCMO, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to KC Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Rd, KCMO 64145 and Missouri Right to Life, PO Box 651, Jefferson City, MO 65102.

John was born April 22, 1929 in KCMO to John Joseph Halloran and Mary Ann (McNellis) Halloran. He attended St. James grade school and Lillis High School. He married Virginia "Vicki" Rossato in 1950. John was in the retail business and was in sales for IBM before working in the insurance industry for over forty years. He was a member of the Missouri National Guard. John was in the O?Hara Council of the Knights of Columbus and a founding member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He was an active member in Missouri Right for Life.

John enjoyed traveling and trout fishing keeping a travel trailer at Bennett Springs for many years. He enjoyed dancing and competed in Ballroom Dance competitions.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Virginia "Vicki" and his wife of 9 years, Gloria Lefton; twin daughters Debra and Dana; brother Captain Gerald Halloran and stepmother Gertrude "Poss" Halloran. Father and Mother-in-Law Angelo (Marie) Rossato, sister-in-laws Annabelle Hampshire and Mary Whitaker.

He is survived by longtime friend and companion Peggy Allin and sons John Jr. and Mark. Daughters Karon (Mike) McGlinn; Shawn (Graham) Giblin; Rita (Gary) Hense and Mary (Bill) Scobee. Brother Leo (Kay) Halloran; sisters Denise (Ken) Bohon, Diane (Howard) Drew, stepdaughters Cheryl James; Karen (Gregg) Thomas; Gwen (Bill) Venable, Stepson Robert (Michelle) Mehan. Sister-in-laws Leota Halloran, Sharon (Dutch) Milz, brother-in-law Robert (Norma) Rossato. Grandchildren Michael (Beth) McGlinn; Kelly (Ryan) Kerschen; John Anthony Halloran; Ashley Halloran; Graham Giblin III; Danny (Sharee) Giblin; Kristen (Todd) Hopkins; Scott (Cristy) Hense; Stephanie Hense; David Campbell; Angela Halloran; Cecily Halloran; Katherine Halloran; Austin Scobee; Alexandra Scobee; Andrew Scobee and 11 Great Grandchildren.
