John Riley Johnson, 67, of Grandview Missouri, was born in Kansas City, Missouri on October 22nd, 1955, the son of Walter and Georgia (Fields) Johnson. He passed away on June 19th, 2023, at his home. 

 

John grew up in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, and graduated from Pleasant Hill High School. He was an industrial painter for his career, had a remodeling business in later years, worked for St. Catherine of Sienna church, and was part of the maintenance department at Avila College. John loved fishing, Star Trek, working on cars, and wanted to be known as 'that guy who could fix anything'.

 

He was married to Kimberly Ann (Patten) Johnson on October 6th, 1984; she preceded him in death on January 18th, 2015. John and Kim lived in Grandview their entire married lives with their three daughters Karri, Hillary, and Reilly (Roux).  

 

John was preceded in death by Kim, his wife of 31 years, his sister Mary Louise Johnson-Elves, and his parents.  

 

He is survived by his daughters Karri Ann Johnson of Kansas City, Hillary Marie Johnson of Des Moines, IA, and Roux (Wesley) Elizabeth (Johnson) Barrett of Overland Park, KS; his brother Jim (Helen) Johnson of Michigan, and many relatives and friends.  

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of your choosing in honor of John's memory.
