Were very saddened to share the passing of Julia (Meyers) Shanahan on May 21st. Born in Kansas City, MO., on July 18, 1942, Julia was the first child of John "Jerry" and Mary Beth "Yellowbird" (Duffy) Meyers.
Julia loved quilting, 80s music the KU Jayhawks and the Kansas City Royals. She had a dry sense of humor and the gift of gab. Julia especially enjoyed caring for her family and friends. She offered many of lifes gifts for her family and friends over the years, but her greatest gift was living with compassion for others.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John M. Meyers. She is survived by her three children: Kimberly (Dale) Dillon, Mary Shockey and Sean (Sara) Shanahan; grandson Rob (Victoria) Phillips, granddaughter Grace Shanahan; sister Ann (Arnie) Mears and a great granddaughter Elaine Phillips.
Julia will certainly be missed by all of those who love her.
Visitation to be held 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 26th at Muehlebach Funeral Chapel, 6800 Troost Ave., Kansas City, Missouri. Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
Prayer service 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 31st at Muehlebach Funeral Chapel. Following the service, Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
