June Joyce Bryant

June Joyce (Aubrey) Bryant, 85, passed away May 28, 2015 after a 9 year long battle with lung cancer. June was born August 27, 1929 in Roxton, TX. She and her mother, father and brother moved to Kansas City, MO when she was 14 years old. June graduated from Manual High School and went to work for an insurance company. During her teens and early twenties, June took vocal lessons and participated in numerous competitions as well as the very first Miss Kansas City Beauty Pageant in which she came in second place. June became an entertainer in the USO and traveled to the various military bases surrounding the greater Kansas City area to sing and act in plays. After marrying and having her only child, Melinda Joyce (Bryant) Kaeding, she went to work for the FBI in 1961 as a confidential typist working closely with the field agents and finally retired in 1998 after 37 years of service. June was preceded in death by her parents, Brown and Eva Marie Aubrey; her brother, Kenneth Aubrey. She is survived by her daughter, Melinda (Bryant) Kaeding; grandson, Jack Lee Kaeding, Jr.; granddaughter, Amanda Tess Kaeding; great grandson, Peyton Jack Kaeding; longtime companion, Tom Heck; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. To her friends and family June was a pillar of strength with the soul of an angel. She would do just about anything for anyone in need. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and will never be forgotten. Visitation will be held from 2-4:00 pm, Sunday, May 31st at Muehlebach Funeral Care, 6800 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Monday, June 1st at the funeral home. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
