Karen Cox, 58, of Fort Worth, TX (formerly of Kansas City) passed away unexpectedly January 10, 2016. Visitation will be from 1-4 pm on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Muehlebach Funeral Care, 6800 Troost Avenue, KCMO. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Monday, January 18, 2016 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church at 11822 Holmes Road, KCMO. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Karen was born July 10, 1957, daughter of Jack N. Bundy and Gladys (Donovan) Bundy in Joplin, and was raised in Kansas City, graduating from Center High School in 1975. Karen married her husband, Dean Cox on June 17, 1978 and into this union were born two children; Jamie & Jeremy. Karen spent over 20 years working in higher education between Columbia College & Avila University. In her time at Avila she followed her faith and became an Associate of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Of all of Karens accomplishments throughout her life, nothing brought her more joy or pride than that of the title of Grandma. She was an amazing Grandma to her three granddaughters and one grandson, and she was elated to find out this Christmas that she would be adding another grandchild due around her birthday. We know that these five children will live their lives with the most amazing Guardian Angel watching over them.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jack. She is survived by her mother, Gladys, her husband, Dean, her daughter, Jamie Young (Andy), her son, Jeremy Cox (Meredith), and her grandbabies; Lucy, Quinn, Zadie & Tillie. She was a loving sister and sister-in-law to; Mike (Donna), Tom (Suzy), Jerry, Mark (Paula), Kevin (Rachel), Kathy Bourek (Kermit), Nancy, Mary, Sharon and sister-in-law; Vickie Sivewright; 12 nieces and nephews; 14 great-nieces and nephews and a countless number of friends who Karen always thought of as family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CSJ Associate Program, 6400 Minnesota Ave, Attn: Mission Advancement, St. Louis, MO 63111.
