Kathleen Cirino

  Kathleen Ann Cirino died on December 12, 2022 at the age of 86. She was the sixth of eight children born to Richard and Katherine Finnegan Hilferty of Baldwin, New York. Born on September 27, 1936, in 1956 she married John Anthony Cirino. They lived for the next 40 years on the north shore of Long Island, later retiring to Kansas City. After rearing her daughters, Kathleen completed a Masters degree in social work and began her career. Her husband died in 2009. Kathleen is mourned by her daughters and sons in law, Lisa and Steve Swalwell and Richelle Cirino and Michael Turner; her grandson Ian Swalwell and granddaughter and husband Francesca and Joe Donovan; great grandchildren Jack Donovan and Katie Donovan; and by her extended family. There will be a private memorial. Kathleen loved the sea, gardens, golf, travel, architecture and design, and, most of all, her family. She bore a difficult last chapter of health challenges with her customary dignity and grace. Her daughters especially wish to thank the kind caregivers at Claridge Court and Ascend Hospice.
