Kathleen Marie Overton

Kathleen Marie Overton, 40, passed away on August 24, 2022 surrounded by her family. Kathleen was born in Kansas City, MO on February 23, 1982. She was preceded in death by her father, Woody Overton, her maternal grandmother, Mamie Perkins and her paternal grandmother, Evelyn Hicks. Kathleen is survived by her mother, Jane Overton, her sister, Beth Cavaliere, her brother-in-law, Tom Cavaliere III, her nephew Thomas Cavaliere IV, her niece, Livvy Cavaliere, her aunt, Sr. Vickie Perkins, SCL. She is also survived by her cousin, Susan Wegener (Lance) and her second cousin, Lanie Overton.

Kathleen’s entire professional career involved advocacy and protection of children; first as a teacher at Rainbow School while in college. She continued as a case manager for children in foster care at KCV. Her role as a therapist for children at Marillac Center continued this advocacy. Kathleen’s passion for children’s health and safety made her extremely successful in these roles.

We will miss her dry sense of humor, her loyalty and her love of family. Her father’s favorite nickname for Kathleen was “Kate”. We are certain that he is rejoicing with his Kate in heaven.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Monday August 29^th with a prayer service at 7:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, August 30th at 11:00a.m. Both will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 701 E. Meyer Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64131.
