Kimberly "Kim" Sue Thorman

September 14, 1969 — January 19, 2024

Kansas City, Missouri

Kimberly “Kim” Sue Thorman passed away Friday January 19, 2024. Kim was born to John and Joyce (Coonce) Thorman on September 14, 1969, in Kansas City, MO.

Kim was a 1987 Platte County graduate and went on to graduate from MO Western in 1995 with a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting and a minor in Spanish. Kim went by many titles: granddaughter; daughter; sister; cousin; niece; sister-in-law; and friend but found her greatest joy in being Aunt Kimmie. Krislyn and Chloe were blessed with the very best; Aunt Kimmie loved finding new ways to delight her girls. Her passing leaves a hole in their hearts that will never be filled.

Quiet and kind, Kim always had a smile on her face and never hesitated to offer help to anyone who might need it. Generosity of spirit was part of her DNA, and she gave without expecting anything in return. She devoted herself to being a caretaker to all around her, but most notably for Grandma Dot and her mom in the final years of their lives.

Kim enjoyed crafting, going to estate sales, garage sales, shopping, quilting and float trips, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and friends. She loved animals and was a master petsitter for many friends over the years.  If your pets were lucky enough to have Kim petsit, they knew she would not arrive empty-handed – they could count on a new toy or treat.

Kim was preceded in death by her grandparents, Russ and Dorothy Coonce, Max and Jean Thorman, her uncle John Coonce, her mom, Joyce Thorman, and nephew Noah Leitterman.

Kim is survived by her father John Thorman of Platte City, brother Chris (Roxeanne) Thorman of Kansas City, nephews Dakota Marks and Skyler Leitterman (Haley Wooten) of Kansas City, nieces Krislyn and Chloe Thorman of Kansas City and great-nephew, Ryker Marks of Kansas City along with aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends, many of whom she considered family.

In lieu of flowers the family would like to suggest a donation to your local animal shelter in Kim’s name; and to meet the world with the same kindness that Kim showed to all.
