LaReita Boyer, 86, formerly of Kansas City, Missouri, died on June 16, 2023 and was born April 18, 1937 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Wallace Howard and Agness Aileen (Freeman) Bigelow. She grew up and attended school in Tonganoxie, Kansas.  LaReita married Stanley E. Boyer on February 12, 1955. They had two children, Debra Lea and Mahlon Scott.  She then attended the Saint Francis School of Nursing in Topeka, Kansas to earn her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  She remained in healthcare all her working career. After retirement, she became actively involved in the Ruskin Hills Homes Association.  Her other passions were the Kansas City Chiefs, her garden and her beloved pet Molly.  LaReita is preceded in death by her parents, Wallace Howard Bigelow, Agness Aileen, and Malhon Cook, her infant brother Charles Leroy Bigelow, her sister, Donna Marie (Bigelow) Hubbard, her son, Mahlon Scott Boyer, and a longtime dear friend, Kathy Alivernia.  Survivors include daughter, Debbie (Kevin) Davoren, her sister, Mahlene Nokes, her brother Harley Cook, 7 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
