Lily Jo Leete passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Little Sisters of the Poor, Kansas City, Missouri. Lily Jo was born April 3, 1930 in Kansas City, Missouri to Cecil and Gladys Lund (Parent) both of Nodaway County, MO.

Prior to getting married and starting a family, Lily Jo enjoyed working, and in her spare time ballroom dancing and volunteering at the USO where she met her husband Norman in 1956. They Married in 1957 and remained in the Kansas City area where they eventually would raise 5 children.

Lily Jo lived a full life as a busy mother, involved in many activities all while maintaining a full-time career as an Executive Administrative Assistant. She worked for several companies over the years including Kroger, Borg Warner, Milgram and finally Good Will Corporation where she retired at age 80 in 2010.

Time with her children was so important, being involved in the Boy Scouts of American as a den mother, and in Girl Scouts as a troop leader.

She and her husband enjoyed time together as Amway Distributors and mentors for Toastmasters International.

Lily Jo converted her faith to Catholic in 1977 where she soon dedicated time to the church as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. Norman and Lily Jo also became involved in Marriage Encounter as mentors in that program.

Lily Jo lost her beloved husband Norman in 1993. She was fortunate to have many dear friends who she enjoyed traveling the world with for many years after.

Lily Jo was without a doubt a wonderful and loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She is preceded in death by her sister Anna Lou, her parents Cecil and Gladys and her husband Norman. She is survived by her children: Lou Ann Castle (Steve) of Independence, MO; Stephen Leete (Hernih) of Independence, MO; Larry Leete (Christine) of Livermore, Colorado; Sharon Sanders (Mark) of Lee's Summit, MO; Father Timothy Leete of Trenton, MO; and by her grandchildren: Crystal, Tiffany, Lauren, Stephanie, Anastasia, Jake, Luke and Nicholas and great-granddaughter Jessica.

A Family Visitation and Rosary followed by a Mass of Christian Burial are scheduled for 9:30am on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Little Sisters of the Poor, 8745 James A Reed Road, Kansas City, MO 64138, followed by burial at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Raytown, MO.
