Linda L. "Pinky" Jordan

Linda L. “Pinky” Jordan, 82, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, November 21^st.  Linda was born on January 13, 1941, to Alva Edwin and Wilma Elizabeth Kiefer Jordan in Kansas City, Missouri.  “Pinky” attended Glennon and graduated from East High School in Kansas City, Missouri.  She then attended Central Missouri State and graduated in 1963 with a teaching degree/BS in Education.  She then worked for the Division of Family Services.  She then went on with the United States Department of Agriculture, moving to Chicago and Denver.  In 1979 Linda headed to Africa with the Peace Corps and it was there that she met Arnold Snowden.  Arnold was in Africa working with the USDA, teaching farming there in Africa and this is how Linda and Arnold met.  Linda was in the Peace Corps from 1979 to 1981.  They were married on July 13, 1981, in Kansas City, Missouri and then returned to Africa for two more years.  In 1983 they moved to Washington, DC where Arnold continued his work with the USDA and Linda obtained her BSN at Georgetown University.  When Arnold retired from USDA in 1987, they returned to Kansas City where Linda continued her nursing career at the VA, Research and St. Luke’s Hospitals retiring in 1998.  She loved to travel, and she loved to collect anything elephant.  Linda was predeceased by her parents, her husband Arnold Snowden in 2009 and her sister, Mary Anne Vassholz in 2020.  She is survived by her brother, Harold Jordan and his wife, Carol.  She is also survived by Nieces and Nephews; Frank Vassholz, Eric Vassholz, Shelby Vassholz, Jason Jordan, Heather Jordan-Farr and Gillian LeRoy.  She is also survived by many Great Nieces and Nephews and a host of friends.  In lieu of flowers, please send a donation the Bishop Sullivan Center, 6435 E.
