Louis A. Clairmont, Jr.

Louis A. Clairmont, Jr., age 76, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away at his home on January 20, 2019. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25th at Muehlebach Funeral Care, 6800 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64131. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 26th at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 2 East 75th St., Kansas City, MO 64114.
Louis was born on September 30, 1942 in Niskayuna, New York to his parents, Louis Sr. and Freida (Brooks) Clairmont. He was one of five children, having three sisters and one brother. Louis graduated from Drexel University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and spent most of his working life as a programmer and designer. He moved to Kansas to be with Debby in Kansas City.
You could often find Louis outside enjoying nature. He was passionate about conservation and was very active in the Friends of Lakeside Nature Center, as well as the Lone Jack Historical Society. Louis loved readingmainly military history or science fictionand he also enjoyed horseback riding, sailing, snow skiing, and the artistic works of Stone Lion puppets and the theater.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis Sr. and Freida. Louis is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Deborah Barker; his sisters Judy Rodgers and husband Joe of Pennsylvania, Jeanne Ralicki and husband Chuck of Connecticut, Roberta Snediker and husband Tad of New Mexico; his brother Joe Clairmont and wife Diane of Florida; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Lakeside Nature Center (4701 E. Gregory Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64132) or StoneLion Puppets (2400 E Truman Rd, Kansas City, MO 64127).
