Lucian S. Piane

Lucian Piane, 98, of Kansas City, MO passed away November 27, 2014. Visitation will be at 5PM on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Muehlebach Funeral Home, 6800 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, MO, where the rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm. Services will be at 11AM on Wednesday December 3, 2014 at St. Elizabeth?s Catholic Church, 75th and Main Street, Kansas City, MO. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery, 6901 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Catholic Charities.

Lucian was born on December 17, 1915 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Vincent and Concetta (Marazzo) Piane. He was raised in Kansas City, the third of five children. He graduated from Westport High School. He met his wife in 1944 while dancing at the Pla-Mor in Kansas City. Lucian and Lucille were married on October 10, 1945. In addition to a loving husband and father, Lucian was an avid tennis player and golfer. They have five children.

He was preceded in death by his spouse, both his parents and all of his siblings. He is survived by his five children, daughter Diane L. Rush and husband Tom D. Rush, daughter Carol E. Rupp and life partner James E. Harris, son Lucian Piane, Jr., son Gary G. Piane and wife Debra K. Piane and son John B. Piane, along with 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
